Location - Where Is It?

Wilsons Promontory is the southernmost point of the Australian mainland, located in the South Gippsland region of the state of Victoria. It is protected as the 50,000 hectare Wilsons Promontory National Park with the seas around the southern end known as the Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park. The park, managed by Parks Victoria, contains 130 km of walking trails and a number of campsites. The only settlement within Wilsons Promontory is Tidal River which lies 30 km south of the park entrance. This area is the focus for tourism and recreation within the park and has a campground, Visitor Center and a general store.
