Location - Where Is It?
Melbourne is located in the south-eastern state of Victoria, Australia. Sitting at the head of Port Phillip Bay, it is Australia's second largest city and the state's capital, its four million residents being multicultural, artistic and sports-mad. The city spreads southwards along the shoreline of Port Phillip Bay, east towards the Dandenong Ranges, west towards the city of Geelong and north towards the plains of central Victoria.
