There are very little catering options outside of the towns, so the best advice is to be as self sufficient as possible if you drive into the outback. You can stock up on supplies in the towns, and many of the resorts and campgrounds have restaurants.

The Kimberley is not a desert, but it is still a very hot place, so drink plenty of water. There are a few bars in Broome, but otherwise the nightlife is as one would expect, rather limited aside from the sounds of the native animals. But who needs bars, when stargazing is a simply awesome nighttime attraction worth looking up for!
